    Importing Interviews in Academly

    Interview transcripts need to be available in Academly before they can be used for coding and qualitative analysis. The Interviews area lets you add and manage transcript text for your research project.

    Importing an interview stores the transcript in your qualitative research workspace. Once added, the interview can be selected by supported coding and analysis tools.

    How to import an interview

    Open Interviews

    Go to Qualitative Research and open the Interviews area.

    Create a new interview

    Start a new interview entry and give it a clear title.

    Add source information

    Enter a short description that helps you identify the interview or participant later.

    Add the transcript

    Paste the transcript text that you want to analyze.

    Save the interview

    Add the interview to your research workspace.

    Review the saved interview

    Open the entry and check the title, source information and transcript before using it for coding.

    Use the interview for coding

    The saved interview can now be selected in the Coding area when you are ready to analyze it.

    • Open and review transcript text
    • Edit interview information when needed
    • Keep interview titles consistent across your research project
    • Remove interviews that should no longer be part of the project

    Important notes

    Remove personal identifiers when your research design or data protection requirements require anonymization. Transcript quality directly affects the material available for coding and analysis. Keep a separate backup of your original transcripts.
