The Analysis area helps you review coded material across interviews and categories. It can be used to summarize findings, compare patterns and prepare evidence for your qualitative results.
What this section is about
Once your interviews have been coded, the next step is to examine how themes and categories appear across your data. Analysis tools help bring related coded segments together so you can review recurring patterns, differences and supporting quotes.
When you should use Analysis
- When you have completed coding for one or more interviews
- When you want to summarize findings by category
- When you want to compare themes across several interviews
- When you need supporting quotes for your findings
- When you are preparing the results or analysis section of your thesis
How it works
Open Analysis
Go to Qualitative Research and open the Analysis area.
Select your codebook
Choose the codebook that was used to code the interview material.
Select the interviews
Choose the interviews you want to include in the analysis.
Generate the analysis
Start the analysis using the selected coded material.
Review the results
Examine the generated summaries, patterns and supporting material for each category.
Use the results in your research
Copy or export relevant findings and return to the original coded segments when you need to verify context.

Working with the results
- Compare generated summaries with the underlying coded segments

- Return to the coding stage if important segments are missing or incorrectly categorized
Important notes
Analysis quality depends on the quality and completeness of the underlying coding. Generated summaries should support your interpretation, not replace it. Always keep the connection between your conclusions, coded segments and original interview material.
